Thanks for all of your input. It has been very helpful. I took my car into the indie today and, unfortunately, he confirmed what the dealer had said. Although, he said the rotors were fine and all that needed to be replaced was the pads. Again, he quoted me $180 for just the front which sounds pretty high. May try to do it myself as I am pretty handy with that sort of thing. I think I am just going to keep an eye on the power steering fluid level. The hose is not leaking that much and replenishing fluid is a cheap fix for the time being. Finally, in regards to the clutch, he said it was starting to feel stiff and that I would need to replace. He quoted $950 for the whole clutch job. I thought that was a bit high but don't know. As I mentioned before, the clutch doesn't feel any stiffer today than the day I bought it 4 months ago and there are only 51k miles on the car. Is this something I can hold off on for a month or two and see what happens? He said that the only thing that will happen is that the cable will break and I won't be able to drive the car (don't get me wrong - that is pretty bad) but, as long as it doesn't do any other type of damage, I may just wait a month or so and roll the dice. Any thoughts on the clutch?
To answer the question, what field I am/was in.....technology of course.
