Hard starting diagnosis help

Subject: 1995 900 SET; 100K miles; MBC, K and N, exhaust, plugs not too old; techtron 2X a year.
Problem: Very hard start after car has been sitting for 10+ hours, it seems to very related to ambient temp. If I go to the car on a hot morning, I can expect to have to pop start. It pop starts easily. Then, she runs fine for the rest of the day!
Done so far: cleaned battery terminals. Had battery tested - battery good.
Suspected: I think I have a fuel problem. It seems that I lose fuel pressure over time and with heat?.......not sure that makes tons of sense. Maybe this fuel pressure regulator (FPR) that got attention on the board a bit ago?
Any thoughts appreciated.
