1995 900se Conv. 2.3 turbo 124,000 miles 20,000 on new engine. This is my first post here so here goes...Up here in Anchorage, AK it get's cold, and now I'm having heating problems! At first I suspected the Control Module, because I noticed that whenever I changed the speed from high to low and back to high the fan would quit. So I inspected the CONTROL MODULE (not too bad of an ordeal) and simply put some more silicon paste on both sides of the plates since they appeared dry. I started it up and everything seemed fine...for about15 minutes that is. Next, I inspected the BLOWER MOTOR, (that was an ordeal) connectors seemed really rusty but I plugged it back in. OK, NOW HERE IS THE DEAL and I probably didn't have to dig all the way into the blower motor to discover this. BUT, the blower motor and the controls for the speed work FINE so long as I don't start the engine! The fan doesn't blow while the engine is running!!! Turn it off, and just start the electrical system, the fan blows strong and I can turn it high and low and high and low with no problems. What's GOING ON!!! HELP!!! I ran down to my mechanics and they can't help me until WED but I'm afraid they are going to waste alot of time trying to figure this out at $85 and hour. Thanks in advance.
