I bought a 900SET with 80k on it about a year ago. I changed the oil with synthetic blend right away, and again 6 months later. Now I have 90k on it.
I would like to switch to a full synthetic, but people have told me that my seals will dry out and crack if I do this. Is this an old wives tale, or am I rolling the dice? Would a 5w40 be less risky than a 0w40?
I am in the process of upgrading this car - have a bid in on ebay for a MBC and hope to move up to 15.5. If I am going to be pushing the car more, is this a higher priority? Seals will be under more strain?
