The truth is it is really hard to say. If the owner of your car changed the dyno oil every 3,000 miles then it would be fine to stay with regular oil, as the car has been fully maintained. Yet, recently one owner with a 900S who owned it since new had his engine fail. He changed his oil every 3,000 miles using Dyno oil, but his car still failed around 120,000 miles. Most people on this board recommend switching to synthetic even slightly over 100,000 miles. Some have switched at 150,000. If your car does not leak oil now it may seep a bit after changing to synthetic. Even after changing at 75k miles, I stil have not seen a drip of oil or anything. If you are worried about sludge, then use a bristle cleaner and stick itaround the bottom of the oil pan via the plug hole. If crud comes out then you have sludge. The action to take on this is to have the engine cleaned. I don't know how to do that, but there are probally oil additives that would fix the problem. Pesonally, I'd change to synthetic, it's worth it. 1 more thing, if you do switch to synthetic you should change the oil, then change it again at 2,500 miles, then start the 5,000 mile cycle. Hope that helps.
