streaks and smears can mean a few things

A lot of times streaking is caused by the weather. Too cold or too hot and humid can cause some waxes to work poorly. For example, I detailed a Porsche today and the polish I was using was very difficult to remove because the car was so cold. The low temps and the polish simply didn't like each other and it made my job difficult.
Another problem could be the use of too much product. Applying wax thinly can be a challenge sometimes.
I too used to use Wax Shoppe products. I remember they were high in solvents and could be used successfully in cold temps because of them. They were also quite "watery" which made it easy to apply it thin.
Anyway, a rewash of the car or just a spritz of detail spray or even water should fix up most of the streaks.
