I use an older PB 10 to 12 hrs a day and they do get hot. I have the back edge on a dense foam keyboard wrist rest about a 1/2-inch thick so the whole unit is tilted slightly. I like the angle better and it definitely runs cooler that way. Some heat does come out thru the keyboard, and there is a very noticeable difference if the bottom is not raised--then the heat coming out thru the keys is substantial. And this on an old G3 CPU.
