Add to that the fact that people who buy luxury cars have higher expectations, and nobody should be surprised these cars spend more time in the shop.
Personally, I like to have the latest and greatest technology, which is why I lease a new vehicle every three years. Generally, having 75 extra available horsepower, safety features like SAHR, ESP, EBD, and dual stage air bags, a much better sound system, better gas mileage, etc. more than make up for the occasional extra trip to the dealer when the "fancy" cupholder breaks. That being said, my '02 9-5 Aero has been almost bullet-proof so far. Only one issue since I picked it up a year and a half ago (knock wood).
