My son has a monster 750 dark and he lets me take it for a spin. Having owned a 57 harley FLH, a 70 Tri TR-6, and recently put many miles on a friend's extra Bmw 1150, I will say that the Ducati handles like a part of you and makes the bmw's feel like trucks.

The fit and finish is great and the fairly upright seating position puts much less strain on your wrists. Serious sport bikes give me leg cramps and sore wrists after 20 minutes.

While more cc's are always tempting, the 620 should be OK. While I haven't put enough miles on my son's bike, I haven't gotten to the point where the power feels tame. Eventually they all do.

The only negative is parts availability. Little stuff like the oil pressure sender. Forget trying to get anything out of Italy in the summer, when the whole country goes on vacation. BMW and Hondas have great service networks and parts are always there. But the Duc wins on style and functional design.
