Once you've mastered the basics, and by that I mean everybody should get some small bore experience 100-250cc, on a bike they can just yank up when it falls down. After that 600 or 883 or 1,200 or even 1,800 are all big bikes.
My point is I don't find a Sporty easier to ride than a Hog. You may feel less intimidated by the stature of a Sporty, but the lower center of gravity and the greater mass make a Hog smoother. You're gonna' need help standing up a Sporty too if it falls over. They're all held up by the wheels. To me that's like saying you shouldn't drive a 9-5 until after you've had a 9-3. They all operate the same way. In many respects the heft makes a big bike smoother and more stable.
