I feel for ya...but I think you made the right move by waiting to seal it. The arsenic will leach out slightly faster if not sealed, and the color will even out with a couple of months of direct sunlight. I hope, however, that your contractors sealed the beams and joists before the decking was fastened. Those contact points are the first spots for rot. If not, you'll need to get under the desk and apply a sealer (Thompson's or a similar product...)
I built a 500-square-foot deck last spring and spring and summer. I used CCA pressure treated wood for the support structure (beams and joists) but I used Trex for the decking for the same reasons you're concerned about.
CCA lumber stopped being made sometime over the summer, but Home Depot and Lowes were offering ACQ-treated lumber in the spring. Your contractor should have known this, and frankly, probably should have given you the option seeing as you have kids.
After the fact, I think you can stain the surface (which you'll need to do every couple of years anyway) to reduce the transmission of arsenic, but I'm not sure which are proven to do this.
How big is the deck, and do you have a well?
