Well you guys were all spot on. I found a great shop in Minneapolis that explained anything and everything about road bikes to me. He was not push in the least...what I hate about bike shops...not all of them. Is that someone that is new to riding can feel really out of place and some store workers and owners are just snotty.
I don't want to rush into anything. As I don't want to make a dumb decision. It looks like the best route is going to be to wait around and find a higher end (relatively speaking...so to me a Giant OCR1 is high end ;-) used bike with good components. Then I can take it to the shop I mentioned and get all fitted up.
Next question is about pedals. Clipless or toe-clip? Thoughts? I rode a friends bike a few years ago that had toe clips and I hated it because I had a hard time getting my feet out when I would stop...maybe they just weren't set up for me correctly.
THANKS so much for the help.
I can't believe all of the random things this board has been help with besides just cars.
Cheers
Chris
