This almost sounds like a recent post on a Subaru forum except of course, the object of devotion was Subaru. In that case, it was simply a paper being written while in your case, it is an ad design.

Any way, part of the history of SAAB is that it started as an economy car, a car for the common people as it were. Why it did not grow as rapidly as VW, I am not sure and leave that for others. Any way, as the cost of labor got higher in Sweden, SAAB had to charge more for cars than other manufacturers in the same class (may be the answer in comparison to VW). Therefore, SAAB had to add more luxury into the cars to match the price.

In the past, I liked SAABs for 2 reasons. They weren't popular so used ones were cheap. And they were a very good compromise on size and performance. Today, I feel the brand is perhaps too generic. Present daily drivers are a VW GTI for me because it is turboed and a small hatchback. And an Audi A6 for my wife as it is the smallest car I could adjust the drivers seat to fit me and then fit in the back seat. It also is AWD and turbo charged. Saab does not make an AWD large sedan or a small hatchback.
