Is that pattern real! Good Grief.
Anyway, I agree with you PG. Personally i like having the control of the engine in my foot/hand. I've been in some dicey situations and in both cars and not knowing what the auto-box is going to do when I need it scares me.
Icy roads for instance. If things are really bad I clutch...this gives me a REAL feel of the road conditions. I can place as much or little power where and when I want it and as a veteran stick driver...the shifter and clutch are extensions of my body. I feel naked with out at least a dead pedal in an auto car and a floor mounted selector.
In the end...if I need to brake hard, I brake and clutch as one; if I need to floor it...I can downshift just as fast as the auto box BUT I know when it's going to kick in...not waiting for it.
Safety aside...the sport mode of the 9-5 IS a lot of fun!
