Actually the way you use your car is exactly what the old car hobby should be. It's low key, you don't have a lot of money tied up in it, you don't expect too much, you just go out and have a little fun with the car. What I was really talking about is the barking mad wave of frensy for muscle cars of that era. I don't know if you watch Barret Jackson on Speed, but the prices these cars are bringing has just gotten nuts. Two million for a Hemi Cuda convertible? Even fairly mundane examples of these cars are bringing $100,000 to $200,000. I'd love to have a mid-sixites Corvette or Jag (which drive pretty nice even by modern standards), but paying $150K for one isn't something I'd do no matter how much money I had. We're in the middle of a golden age of performance cars. An M5 will perform with a 427 Vette and yet offers so much more. A Ferrarri, Porsche, Lambo, or even a new Vette or Viper are ten times the car of anything from the sixties. For 20 or 30K and old muscle car would be fun, but for the price of a new Ferrarri I don't think so.
