this month about a '65 Cobra that is really a daily driver. It has not, and the owner says never will be, restored.
Those were pretty amazing cars in the mid-sixties, and still perform well by many of today's standards. They are, unfortunately unaffordable to mere mortals. The auction prices of these and other much more mundane cars of that era are ridiculous. Too many well-heeled baby boomers out there trying to recapture their youth.
I'd love a Cobra--the only American car of the '60s I care about--I liked German, British and Italian stuff much better. But if I get one it'll be a Factory Five Racing kit with modern running gear and electrics.
Old cars are great, but the silly market has made anything worth having too expensive to own. And they really didn't drive worth a darn.
