I had knocked about 1000 lbs off the Aero spec as per matt at eeuro's comment below (900lbs lighter, plus another 100 for automatic -> manual), so maybe the power/weight ratio will be a little worse than 65. I guess we'll see. If it is 900lbs lighter, it would make the car right around the same weight as the outgoing 9-5. I'd hardly call the 2004 9-5 Arc a "grandma" car. While not an Aero, it can definitely go... higher power to weight than an SPG and not so far from a 9000 Aero...
Power to weight isn't everything (overall size, weight distribution, aerodynamics etc), but it's part of the story... I am also concerned a little about the size + weight of the new 9-5, but if it is too big for us, there is always the 9-3. One problem (since 2004) is there hasn't been enough to differentiate 9-5 from 9-3. Imho, the lineup in 2002 was perfect: 9-3 hatch (3 + 5 doors!), 9-5 sedan + wagon. GM muddled everything up thereafter...
