(In the spirit of friendly dissension....)
Be honest with yourself, this nation would be pretty boring if everyone drove a SAAB or bent to your notion of what they should drive. I didn't think Michigan people got enough sun to get red necks, Kid Rock's song notwithstanding :-0
And what is a soccer mom anyway? I don't know if I have ever seen one (and I have been around a bunch of moms while raising my kids during the last 20 years) but the label is certainly slung about with much disdain, usually by people who don't have or don't like kids yet know what is best for those of us who do. What I have found is plenty of family vehicles that are used for shopping AND carrying around kids and stuff. Nothing wrong with that.
In fact, just tonight, my wife brought home a sofa sleeper that she found on clearance... in the back of our Suburban! Try that in a 9-5 wagon :-) Go ahead and use the SAAB for hauling stones or carrying or towing a little sailboat but for me I desire a diverse fleet of paid-for vehicles each with its own purpose and personality.
