Where I live nobody goes offroad (at least not on purpose), but almost everyone drives an SUV. They block the view for the rest of us, take up too much space and waste lots of gas. When I am stuck in traffic for my morning commute I sometimes count the ratio of one occupant SUVs to regular cars and the ratio of SUVs is very high. I don't believe they should be banned, but I do believe that gas taxes need to be raised high enough to discourage people from wasting gas.
IMHO the introduction of the 9-7 was the final nail in the coffin for Saab. If GM had its way, Saabs would have eventually turned into fat-a** cadillacs with a different badge. Instead, they just killed the brand through incompetence.
