Truck drivers think it's funny to play with car drivers, that's all. I was driving from Toronto to Montreal at night a few years ago (two lane highway) with two 18-wheelers occupying both lanes, going the same speed. I sat back patiently for a few miles (there was absolutely NOBODY on the road), before flashing my lights to high beams for a second, to let the truck driver know that I would like to pass... for some reason he started to immediately pull to the right, towards the other truck (!) before increasing his speed by about 10 mph and moving off into the distance... I figured the other truck drive might have got a fright, so I waited maybe another minute or so before passing him, thinking he might have been a bit unsettled by the incident... so, I go to pass him in the left lane, when he starts to move over to the left slightly, I think 'Jeez, he IS unsettled' and wait another minute or so before passing him. This time he waits until I am almost level with the tractor unit, and sharply moves over !!!!!!!!! to the left, forcing me to run 2 wheels on the grass at 70 mph... hard on the brakes, I sit behind him until I find somewhere worth pulling off the highway (at 11:00 PM, not that easy...).
