Flash to pass is very common. and people really pay attention to it. In general, when I was cruising on an A road in the renault 5 if someone in an alfa or whatever came along flashing lights it didnt mean "please move out of the way" it actually meant "get your a$$ out of my way or else!" other common occurances were to put on your left turn indicator to kindly request that someone move out of the way, or to leave it on while passing to let people behind know that you will be getting out of the left lane just as soon as you pass the fiat 500.... But its definately not like here, where if you flash someone in the left lane they just toddle along even slower or let you pass and then get behind you with the hi-beam on...
Which reminds me of another HUGE annoyance which I have been dealing with here in CT a lot lately. suddenly a LOT of people seem to have decided that when driving on an interstate at night, even with traffic, its appropriate to use your hibeams all the time. It is driving me mad. is this happening elsewhere?
