Driver's ed in the US is a joke. They let any idiot that can use a pencil get a license. To get a license, you take 2 weeks-worth of classes with a teacher who knows about as much about driving as I do about sewing a quilt. I remember getting bonus points on a test in my driver's ed class because I was the ONLY person in the room who knew how to change a tire! In Germnay, driver's ed is a full year (I think!). Dang.

Get to the state level, you need to know how to parallel park and make a three point turn. Besides that, there is litte else required. Amazing.

To make up for this, many states now post signs that say "Slower Moving Vehicles Keep Right" or something to that effect. Still does not work!

I admit, I tailgate sometimes. Not the ridiculous on-the-bumper style tailgating, but I get close enought to let someone know I'm there. Flashing lights at someone works about 50% of the time. Most of the time, I end up having to pass on the right (only on highways!), which I hate doing. One two lane roads, ya just gotta back off until you can pass. And, have enough power that even if they try to speed up to not let you pass, they don't have a choice in the matter! : )
