Drive the thing without following the biased words of certain car-buff magazine writers. For its class and price, the 140hp ION has great ride, great handling, drives 80mph effortlesly at 3,000 rpm with great stability, and it has decent space. The looks are subjective, but boring??? Notice how center mounted gages don't get criticism on the new Quest, the MINI, Scion, the Echo, or the Z8. A lot of automotive journalists don't have the spine to evaluate a product objectively, and they just follow the tone of other automotive journalists in reviewing the vehicles. I would much rather drive an ION over a Civic (loud un-balance-shafted 4,000 rpm at 80mph), or a non-SVT Focus (underpowered), or a Corolla, (marshmallow-mobile with wood trim).
