... with the automatic (2000 model) and it was very good. It didn't have a great deal of pep, but, was certainly decent. The manumatic is also good, but, the VAG Tiptronic is at least as good. The feel and road holding was much better than VAG products (Passat and A6). The 525 just felt more connected to the road. The closest thing I've felt to the steering response in a big car is the Saab 9000.
A 5-series wagon would be a great choice, indeed!
