I went the Autronic route because I thought going with a 2nd set of injectors, APC mod, etc... were just like you said, band aids. However at that time Jak wasn't messing with (now that I think of it, not sure if he was even around TSN) ECU's so who knows what I would of done. My choice to go with Autronic over the other brands were due to talking to people who have used all types & every time they stated Autronic was the best they used. Not just for tuning sake but for reliability over time :) I was mostly looking at Haltec due to Motec being WAY overpriced & I didn't like what I saw with some of the cheaper versions, not that anythig is wrong with them.

I wanted stand alone so I could rely on myself (or a local shop) to do the tuning & also give me full controll over every aspect of the engine.

With the trans, I really feel I blew mine up due to a LOT of dyno time this past summer when the temps were 95+ with high humidity. I also am 99% sure the shop that did the work wasn't kind on my trans even though I stated SEVERAL times DO NOT speed shift, do 1st gear launches etc & I am sure they still did. I also did not have a trans oil cooler which according to Scanwest is a becessity especially when I do track time.

It really depends on what you want & like you stated Brian's SPG is at 250 whp & I am not sure the torque. Going stand alone will probably cost a little more however the driveability improvement are HUGE!!!

I would simply look at what it costs going both ways, stand alone & LH & see what the price difference is. I went stand alone because it didn't cost me much more.
