I have an 85 90 turbo. I have done a ton of work to it as far as upgrades go. As it sit right now, I have an 89 APC harness and controller. My problem is right now The APC solenoid will not click off. I tap the knock sensor and no thing happens at the APC solenoid. I tried to swap the knock sensor and the solenoid and get the same result. NOTHING.

Now while I was doing this and that, I was over the solenoid when I heard a very faint flutter noise. Had to put my ear right up to the solenoid with the engine off to here. Not sure if that’s normal. I can not make it clatter like it would if knock was detected.

Things to know. I replaced the KS cable from a car that had it recently replaced. (The cable is still soft and not hard and dry rotted.) The brake sensor wire on the APC box is not hooked up. The 85 didn’t that this and when I converted I was told to either try and hook up a brake switch or leave it alone altogether. So left it alone altogether. I have tried to ground out the wire and supply a 12v lead to it. Thinking this might be holding the system out.

The worst of it is I had the whole eng/tranny out awhile back and pressure washed the engine bay. The car hasn’t been started since then while I continue to wait on a turbo from a site vendor.

I really need some tech help or advice on what to do next. I plan to go home tonight an take readings on both sides of the wires coming to and from the APC controller. Along with the KS, APC solenoid and pressure switch. I hope this tells me something because I’m at my wits end.

Tim
