I want a turbo in my car that can hit and hold around 18 PSI solid. My Garret turbo could (can still) do it (actually holds about 19 PSI in 4th and 5th right now), but with slower spool up. In my eyes, 18 - 20 PSI is ideal: not too ridiculous, works well with 2.0 L head, no need for brass fittings on grommets in case of blow out under super heavy boost pressure, and i can run it hard for a long time without killing the tranny too quickly. I feel like anything over 20 PSI will just kill trannies every 10K miles. I have access to rebuilt trannies all day long, but I don't want that pain in the arse every year.
I'll post pics and results, hopefully after this weekend.
Mike
