black smoke is unburnt fuel. Period.

next issue is why.
Prime reason is improper fuel metering caused by leaking induction system, i.e., a pressure leak. The amm is metering fuel based on what is being sucked by it but not all of it is getting to the engine. Theoretically the 02 sensor would overcome this by sensing rich and leaning out the injector pulse but at WOT the 02 sensor is cut out. Might not see it in 3-5th gear at similar rpms/boost because you're going too fast and air dilution around the car is masking it. The boost gauge shows what's in the engine, not what's at the turbo so you wouldn't notice the high boost level out of the turbo being bled off before it gets to the engine.

So look/see tighten all the connections from the turbo to the throttle body. Ultimate test is to remove the tube to the throttle body and pressure test the system from the turbo to the throttle body. Of course, if you have a cracked throttle body or other leak around there you'll miss it with the pressure test.
