I had not heard that about the demo 16V's, that would be pretty cool.
I used an atmospheric valve briefly, and it was just too much of a tradeoff for me in driveability, it makes shifting hard.
About the richening problem, that only occurs with air-mass controlled systems, so LH controlled 900's and 9000's, and some of the Trionic cars (I forget which), that use air-mass-meters to control mixture.
However, most of the Trionic cars (and many other cars on the market) use MAP, or manifold absolute pressure driven fuel injection, where the intake manifold is connected to a pressure transducer via a vacuum line which produces an analog voltage that varies with pressure, and an intake air temperature sensor to determine how much air is going into the engine. Know the pressure and the temp, and you know how many oxygen molecules you have to combine with the right amount of fuel. Since the pressure signal is from the intake manifold, any flow changes that happen upstream of the throttle body don't affect the mixture. The temp sensor measures air temp on the cold side of the intercooler plumbing.
I like our 9000 Aero partly as much as I do because you get the atmospheric dump valve sound on shifts.
Best,
Drew
