Improvements in exhaust flow can have a significant impact on spool up.
Also, a T25 Garrett turbo has a LARGER exhaust measurement so that would not accomplish the original smaller idea. The exhaust side of a Garrett turbo is measured in A/R where the Mitsus use CM/2 measurement. The 5cm housing is a .41 A/R. It would take a 7CM/2 Mitsu housing to equal a T25 .49 A/R.
Open up the exhaust and uncork that baby!
