The ratings on this chart are more exact than rough estimates. They represent a combination of engineering principals and test data. These guys know this stuff as well or better than anyone on the planet.
I did not miss the chart application of 531CFM -=- you need to pay attention to the difference between cross flow and vertical flow. The cooler you were looking at is a cross flow, ( 531CFM ) but you quoted the numbers for the vertical flow ( 895CFM ) Like I said before, that is key to picking out the right application. Here is the line showing the specs of the cooler you were referring to:
3.00 11.80 18.00 531 $412.00 A300118180
So, pay attention to the B and C dimensions as you can't mix them interchangeably.
Pick your CFM first from the chart ( that would mean you have a goal in mind ). By the way, a C900 would use 750-800CFM to achieve that goal. Then find the thickness you have to use to fit into your application. Then go to the CFM numbers listed on the chart and find the right combination of B and C dimensions to best fit the space you have. Do it right the first time and don't look back.
It is amazing how many people pick intercoolers thinking they are making a performance gain, when in fact they are losing....
If you want to chat this up off the board or email off the board feel free to send me a message. I am not a vendor or have something to sell, but I can guide you through the application data so you can choose your own path.
