Is it working? If not, could produce the problem you describe. Pull the throttle cable and then release it. The arm will hit the decel dashpot. After this, listen for another tick. The spec is 4 seconds or so between the time you release the throttle, and the tick. Most people feel that is too long, 2-3 seconds is much better. Mine wasn't working at all. The dashpot controls how long it takes for the engine rpm to drop to idle, once the throttle is released (such as when you put the clutch in). It's adjusted, I believe, by moving a nut on the end of the unit.. don't quote me on that.. but I think it's self explanatory.
If that's not the problem...well I'd suggest cleaning the throttle body, but it is! Try cleaning out the AIC as well, and the AMM. Check the turbo bypass 'hooter' valve while you're at it, this is a common cause of stalling...
