THe ball bearings reduce friction and allow the turbo to spin up. A larger sized turbo gives more airflow/hp but the larger rotating mass to spin up creates more lag. I figure I can go to a larger sized turbo and get the ball bearing option. That way, hopefully, the bearing will cancel out some of the mass based lag. Something like a Mitsubishi TD05-16G with the ball bearing option. Anyone agree with this speculation? Here's the link to a spg with that size turbo that lists "311 hp". WHen I get my degree next may my resume objective line will read,"need any engineering job to pay for spg upgrades".
