So you have *stock* springs and swaybars and shocks? AAaaack! Cough!@Cough(*$^
CUT From your upgrade list awhile back:
o 16" Super Aero Wheels from 1998 9000 CSE
o Yokohama A520s (205/50/16s)
o Drilled rotors all around
o Stainless steel brake lines
o Urethane sway bar bushings
You have made excellent choices here. But this is it for handling and
chassis? Your motor upgrades really out-paced your chassis upgrades so
far. No wonder you are having issues. I'm the other way -- I prefer a
tight-handling car first, then up the power to suit.
I used to get wheel hop and spinning soooo bad with the stock setup.
This is due to a drivetrain and suspension with too much compliance, and
wimpy tires. A solid front MM, fresh A-arm bushings, Intrax springs, and
Bilsteins -in PU bushings- will produce great results. Don't underestimate
the benefits of a proper performance alignment and don't skimp on tires.
Michelin Pilot Mxx3, Pirelli PZero, BFG G-force, SO2/SO3 PP's -- these are
the recognized top street tires. The front end will be clamped to the road.
Beyond that, I think that just a stiffer rear bar (while keeping stock
front in PU bushings) is necessary on the c900. I don't know who makes
the rear one I have (Addco? SAS?), but it works great. It sharpens up the
steering response another notch and balances the car for near-0-understeer.
You can provoke oversteer easily when needed, which is fun.
