SPRINGS ... Lower the front and rear to get cg down, reducing weight transfer off front. Stock springs allow front end to rise too much. Lower springs allow cg to drop, and resist front end rise. Intrax likely best ... make sure they are not progressive ... don't think they are. SAS also has springs.
SHOCKS .... Koni's can be adjusted to have high extension resistance (up front) and remain soft in compression for good ride.
SCALES ... If possible, put car on race scales, you in it, 1/2 tank gas. May find some shiming req'd to get proper weight balance up front.
TIRES, DOT 'R'.... compound tires are available with 1/4" tread depth from yok'a and toyo, in 205-55-16 (6.5" rim) and 225-50-15 (7" rim). The 205's are about .3 inch larger radius than stock. I use these (non-saab), and they stick. Hot, you can dig the rubber off the tread with fingernail! They harden with time, but can be refreshed with drag tire treatment (kerosene?) from summit racing.
TIRES .... Like GM said, Kuhmo's T1-s look good for non-R's. Avail in 205-50-16 to match oem OD, and 205-55-15 with .2" smaller radius. Both should have 6.5" rim or wider.
BOOST ... Some electronics are avail to reduce boost in lower gears ... could be speed based trigger. Very commonly done.
