and at times it doesn't serve me well; however, I recall that most HIGH altitude locations typicallys stock lower octane gas. I do not remember specifically why but it has to do with the volitility of gas and the higher altitude. Seems as if in the upper reaches of the rockies most of the stations gas is typically 2-3 #'s less than the standard.
