#1 I'm a personal acquaintance of Shawn and Terry Glazer over at Extreme, and several close friends are on the "extreme team" as well and I work on their cars with them.

#2 The first gen DSM (Like Shawn’s Talon) uses a 14B Mitsubishi turbo.

#3 That 8 second Talon has NOTHING in common with a stocker. It's got a custom straight T4 turbo, one off manifolds, lexan windows, chromoly axles, blah blah..etc etc. It is NOT on a stock T25 and it’s not even on a T3/T4 hybrid. Straight up T4 turbo…huge and unstreetable. The T25 is done with a capital D at 240whp.

#4 The second gen DSM that uses a small frame T25 Garrett turbo (T22/25/28) has a Mitsubishi specific flange. It's not a Garrett small frame flange.

The T28 is the largest small frame turbo that Garrett makes, unless you are going to the HKS GT series turbo that are available up to the GT3037 (475whp), there is no other "option" without a custom manifold.

If you are talking about sticking a Mitsubishi 16G on the car you again have a Mitsu flange on the turbine and a Garrett flange on the manifold. If you are talking about FPT2828 from Forced Performance you again are dealing with a Mitsubishi flange unless Saab contracted Mitsu for the Garrett T25 and uses the same flange as the 2G DSM.

What was your other "option"

I'm curious to hear your response.
