I still say a 4-speed conversion IS perf. related...

Even if it doesn't result in any actual performance gains! Who else but the nuts on this board would go to all the trouble of bolting some 30 year old transmission in their 15 year old car, LOSING a gear in the process? I remember reading in the late 70's about a Pontiac Trans Am with a Doug Nash 5-speed in place of the 4-speed...that was the hot set up then...now look what we are doing! I am glad to hear from someone who actually uses these Saab 4-speeds... I have no experience with them. I have been and will continue to be skeptical of their claimed "added strength/durability" and unless the gearing is considerably different, I don't see why or how a 4-speed would make the car perform any better or faster. They will still blow up before the properly set-up Saab motor will anyway. It's the Saab way, afterall...
Now, how can I adapt an Aisin-Warner automatic to a C900? In my dreams...
