This note makes it clear the box shifting linkage parts are upgraded, for ralley abuse. Mabe stronger casting, but how many crack boxes? Killed aluminum is no stiffer than std cast aluminum. Very difficult to make more rigid case with stiffer covers, due to oem bolting/flange.
Not many crack cases. It's not clear the gears are new, or new materials, or new dimensions. Implied only stonger primary sprockets? Pinion bearing likely same as later 5 spd box, but smaller than eriksson option for early 5 spd.
Did note some low production stronger shaft.
Hope GM can update the info, based on Q's.
spg9 working on improved 5 spd ... best bet for 5spd is new M90+ gearset with cyro's and peened gears.
