Well u r the clear pioneer of sds in c900 saabs!

Quite agressive on timing ... some oem logic is to pass emissions ( no vac advance action at idle). With max boost near 3500?, then 16 deg advance from there up seems hi, where dyno runs by brad favored 10 deg. Not many could run stock timing with no vac retard at 15 psi!

-------

About the 5K problem with 41# inj's, 90% dc. If a gage showed correct 60 psi under load, then pump is doing it's job. Bosch pumps are very good. U do have to watch for excess pressure drop thru rail, or mabe pulsation issues, but not likely in this case.

way to much fuel! some numbers ...

1) assume no turbo, 100% VE, 61 cu-in air pumped per rev. thats 177 cubic feet per min at 5k revs, which is 794 lbs per hr of air. again, no flow restriction anywhere, no exh back pressure.

at 13:1 a/f, that requires 61 lb/hr fuel, for this optimistic case. 15 lb/hr per inj'r.

2) now for ideal turbo, 100% efficient. 15 psi boost will double air flow and fuel needed. we're up to 30 lbs/hr, which means 75% duty cycle for 41# inj'r. At 5k, u have .012 ms to squirt, allow 1 for open and close event, so OK up to 92% dc, looks good. (but above that dc, closing will not happen properly, and u quickly step up to 100%)

3) closer to reality, say 90% VE (just due to pressure drops from manifld into chambers, and exh backpressure, in this method), and also 90% of flow due to heating (130F in manifold, vs 70 outside). Inj'r flow requ'd is 80% of ideal, or 24 Lbs/hr at 13:1. for 12:1 it's 26 lb/hr.

your 90% of 41's would be around 8.5:1. Yes, some xtra fuel is needed for cooling ... but 10% correction would still have u at 9:1.

Would be fun to park it on a dyno with wide band sensor for a day $$$$$$$$
