Almost all EBC's will account for ambient temperature and pressure (altitude) changes, and yes, also prevent spikes at WOT under full boost. I think that it wouldn't do that right away, there would still be a decent amount of spikes, but as it learns your engine (shouldn't take more than a mile or two of hard driving), it will learn the perfect signal to send to the wastegate so that a near-flawless boost level can be maintained. These are the advantages of a computer controlled solenoid as oppose to a mechanical spring.

However, as aerodriver4 pointed out, they are usually in the $400 price range, about 4 times as much as a decent MBC. You get what you pay for. I intend to install an EBC imminently. Will post results.
