Good question. It's easy to say watch everything while you are on the dyno, the reality is quite different. At least for me, the eyes tend to get glued to the tach, with occassional blink at the boost gauge. I'll have to search around for my in car video though (November run - the good run that is). I think it's clear enough to make out lights on the A/F as well as boost/rpm.

As I recall, there seemed to be a pretty good jive with the two, but of course, you can't really see just how overly rich the mixture is on the Autometer. I think I lit up four green LEDs at most, corresponding to 0.9V. Judging by the O2 sensor output vs. voltage graph from Autometer's site, that voltage tells you diddly, as the curve is flat, or at least within about 1/10 of a volt, from A/F of 10:1 all the way up to 14.7:1. It gets slightly more curved as temperatures rise, but still essentially the same reading until you go beyond stochiometric into lean.

I haven't tried the resistor trick. After a year of performance mods, I'm tired of messing with it and have gotten back to the REAL mods - improving the stereo for the umpteenth time. :) Actually, thanks to some great help from Steve Y., I have the APC dialed in far better than it ever has been before. I seem to be reaching max boost at a lower RPM now, and I tweaked it so that max boost is now only 16-17 psi, which it will hold and then just give a slight rpm taper. Probably even richer in the midrange now though... once the weather really warms up I may try that resistor on the AMM, and pressure transducer too.

I still have one situation where things can get crazy, but it's quite unpredictable. If I nail it in third from 3000 rpm or higher, the boost will max in the blink of an eye and usually get cut back all the way to 10-12. If I stay on it, it will climb back up to 15 or so and stick, but of course by then I'm at the rev limit or in the danger zone on the road. :) Doesn't happen at similar RPMs in 4th or 5th, and won't happen at all if I go WOT from under 2500 rpm.

Anyhoo, not to ramble on.. pretty darned happy with the way things are now. Time to get all my CDs burned to MP3s and hit the highway!
