Megatorque stripped half of the teeth off of the cluster gear at 3rd, plus some teeth off of the gear itself. The Aero owner who dyno'd his car to 372 lb. ft of torque last week will likely experience this as well. It's quite fun while it lasts!
Who's to say how the tranny was treated before I had the car. I can't say I'm gentle with the new one in there now, though. I'm nicer to it (no 5th to 3rd drops anymore for me) than I was before the explosion. In all likelihood, I will need another transmission in the next few years. Perhaps I'll be able to afford shot peening by then. I think ckpaden is going to go ahead and freeze this thing, so we should get some results, though not immediate.
