From my exp. Car & Driver is one of the more consistand mags! There are TONS of variables in testing a car (temp, weather, car itself) which can drastically change the acceleration numbers cars get. Back when SPG's were new they ranged from7.3 to 8.4 sec to 60 mph. Nothing to do with bad drivers just hot weather!!
I have seen variations with the WRX from 13.9 to 15.0 sec in the 1/4 mi. One of the most rescent tests has the Dodge SRT-4 being a few tenths quicker in the 1/4 mi then the WRX.
On the roadcoarses, I feel the WRX's are closer to 15 sec 1/4 mi due to how my SPG keeps pace with them. My car gets so heat soaked which will hopefully be fixed this year :o)
