Hmmm. I'm beginning to really wonder about the compatability of Gunk and clutch disks now. Keep in mind that mine didn't slip 'til I gunked it, and my boost is rather high. It didn't slip when boost was at stock-Aero levels (~15 sustained) during the summer of last year, but did at boost levels above that. When mixed with water, Gunk is a slippery mixture, and if it became impregnated in the clutch material it might decrease drag just enough to cause slippage at high boost levels. Regardless, I won't be gunking anywhere near the tranny access hole (where the bleeder valve and hydraulic line are located), but I will continue to use it using more discretion as to where I spray it. S100 degreaser is an excellent product that might not cause this problem, but it is much more expensive than Gunk.
It is mostly known in the motorcycle community and is commonly available at Harley-Davidson dealerships.

As for clutch disks, I think the Aero disk is different, as in my research I kept hearing references to the "stock Aero disk." Since the '91 and '92 9KT 5-door have a different transaxle than the '94 and later 9K's, it wouldn't surprise me if the disk on these later cars is different--but I don't know for sure if the Aero disk is unique. I know nothing about Viggen disk, but the SD Kevlar/copper unit was a consideration for use with the stock PP. I was advised not to go that route because the disk tended to be grabby, although my calls to SD revealed that a smaller-diameter disk was recommended to minimize this problem. It sounded a bit nebulous to me so I went the racing-PP route, which of course didn't turn out to be the best alternative for me. I went with that route because most people recommended that combo.

As for your '91, are you running an ECU upgrade? If not, I'd say unequivocally to go stock all around. Even if you do, I don't know what the best alternative is at this point. I certainly won't be installing another Sachs Racing PP, that's for sure, although it might work great for you or the next guy. The higher gearing of Aeros would be a factor, as I experienced no slipping in 1st or 2nd gear, the problem manifesting itself only in 3rd-5th gears. The shorter the ratio the less tendency there would be to slip.

In my research of this clutch issue, I was told over and over by knowledgeable people that the stock Aero assembly was good for 300 lb-ft of torque, and I should be a bit below that point, but perhaps not much. Based on seat-of-the-pants calculation and knowing the stock spec is ~254 lb-ft, I'd guess it was in the 275-285 range. Perhaps with the new disk (with no gunk on it) I'll be good for a while.
