Yes, Bob now has a new stock disc, new stock master and slave cylinders, new braided line, and the original stock pressure plate (which still appeared to be in very good condition). I would be very, very careful about clutch upgrades. It's obvious to me that this "racing" pressure plate is a dicey proposition. We put everything in correctly and it just didn't work. I suspect that the release rate is diminished a bit (different lever arm lengths) to keep the pedal from being too stiff - that's all I can figure. Why it would work in one car and not in another is beyond me, but it might be related to something as mundane as how much carpeting and insulation there is on the floorboard. Also, having read about the 2mm thicker Kevlar disk, I'd be real suspicious of "disc upgrades" too. It's interesting that Bob's clutch doesn't slip now, and it will be intereseting to see how long it holds up. I "chipped" a Toyota Supra turbo once and the clutch started slipping; I replaced it with stock parts and it never slipped again.
Having experienced all this and read others' experiences, I would be inclined to try all new stock parts (plus the braided line) and see how it goes. Is stock parts will last 50 K miles with upgraded power, I would accept that and just replace the disc if it started slipping. Better than trying to argue with "racing" solutions that don't work!
