Your comp will drop to 8 3/4's just from the extra 2 cc's the 2'1 head has. I agree that it should be even a little lower, we shoot for 8 1/2 for street driven applications and 8 for more serious engines like Damien's. What's deceiving is that when you think you're remove quite a bit of metal you find out that it may only represent 1 cc when you check the volume. When we do the enshrouding in our Tobin Arp / Sunnen machine it looks like we're removing 4 cc's and in actuality it only comes out to be less than one. Anyway the bump probably isn't hollow but if it was it would be a bummer! I'll find out if they're going to be cutting that 2.1 head up tomorrow, if they are it would be worth waiting just to be sure. As far as the short side radius's our porting guy is good at doing them with a small die grinder with a special homemade flapper wheel but I use one of my 320 grit crank polishing belts cut to just be a long 1" wide piece of sandpaper. Just run it back and forth but pull straight up on the chamber side so you don't remove anything from the valve seat area and then go finer as necessary. It's amazing how good this simple method works! Maybe give me a call on my cell number (805) 703-0603 to see when we'll be cutting that head up? Dave
