Most rear spoilers dont do crap except make some cars look good and others like crap. And, the ones that do anything at all only do it at very high speeds. 85 mph or more. Now I will agree that this is when you want your car to be planted. But the ones you see on honda's and such are a joke unless they race them on a track or drag them. But tell me how on on earth does one adjust those wings without a wind tunnel? Or are they adjusting them by the buttorama factor. I don't get it. On another note, a lot of lips you see on the rear of cars are there so the exhaust, dirt and whatever else is circulating back there does not appear on the trunk or winshield. That's my 2 cents..
P.S. The one spoiler that has some of the most extensive wind tunnel tests is the duck tail you see on old 911's. They have found that porsche's w\this tail on them actually see downforce at 35 mph and above. But, that thing sticks off the car about a foot.
