And are you using an OEM type O2 sensor or a wide band? Another classic cause of pre-ignition is carbon deposits, esp in a car with mucho miles. You can see these on the pistons looking thru the spark plug hole wih a light. Those little dark nodule like pieces of carbon will glow red and ignite the mixture prematurely. Try a few does of Techron cleaner, it may help. The old saying "Blow the carbon out of it" was based on this occurance.
