I was on Rt. 70 between Frederick and Mt. Airy, actually just leaving Frederick. Saw about 2 miles of open road that was PERFECTLY straight ahead of me, so I just floored it. Remember I said ABOUT seconds. It was about that fast, since I looked down, expecting to see something like 100 mph or so, and the needle was pegged past 125. Eric was in the car with me, and was watching the RPMs. We are going to do the conversion based on the gearing etc to figure out exactly how fast it was. The car was smooth as anything, and stil climbing when I came up on a group of cars in a hurry. I changed lanes at 130 mph, quite a manuever when you don't do it all that often. I probably scared the crap out of a lot of people when I blew by them. Not a good idea, but I came up on them way faster than I thought I would.(see above)
I'll try to set up a tech session for this week or next. Is your car going to last that long? Is it getting louder? I'll price the job for you, and the springs, too, right?
Nathan, you only have springs to do, right? I'll price that for you, too. Hopefully we can get both cars on the lifts at the same time. Sometimes they have a tranny rebuild or something in there that takes up a lift for a day or two.
Speaking of a u-haul, my brother has a crazy story about a guy in a furniture delivery truck absolutely hauling ass in the area you now know as the "cornfields" Back end cutting loose at 80+ mph, and he caught it, etc. Amazing. Ask him about it!
